Learn how to locate areas of interest, view and interact with NJDEP's GIS data, and query related environmental information. The interactive portion explores the popular NJ-GeoWeb mapping application as it relates to site remediation activities. Information and hands-on learning will enable licensed site remediation professionals (LSRPs) and other environmental professionals to provide required submissions to the department consistent with NJDEP's rules and guidance. The EAF Mapper is an interactive tool that helps answer some of the questions on Part 1 of the Environmental Assessment Form that may be required as part of the permit application process.This half-day interactive computer workshop is team taught by NJDEP's Site Remediation Waste Management Program (SRWMP) GIS staff and includes a lecture portion that will address SRWMP GIS data submittal requirements, common problems encountered with these submittals and the various GIS layers created and maintained by SRWMP. It can also be used to find geographic information useful for construction projects, including the geographic coordinates for a site. The Stormwater Interactive Map is an interactive mapping application used to look up geographic information related to the Phase II Stormwater Program. Information on these sites are available through this application. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's GeoWeb Map Viewer provides a large amount of information on New Jersey's geology, natural resources, and environmental management in interactive map form, including: Surface and bedrock geology Hazards - earthquakes, landslides, drought. The Mineral Resources Navigator is an interactive utility to locate mines and oil, gas and other regulated well types. Resources shown include estuary habitats, streams, wetlands, forests, and biodiversity areas, as well as Hudson River recreation sites and protected lands. The Hudson Valley Natural Resource Mapper is a tool for viewing maps of natural features in the Hudson River estuary watershed to inform conservation and land-use planning. Well Head Protection Areas (Community): A Well Head Protection Area (WHPA) in New Jersey is a map area calculated around a Public Community Water Supply (PCWS) well in New Jersey that delineates the horizontal extent of ground water captured by a well pumping at a specific rate over a two-, five-, and twelve-year period of time. Users may choose a county, town, or watershed, or they may specify their own location on a map, and they will receive a list of the animals, plants, and significant natural communities that have been found there. New York Nature Explorer, a gateway to biodiversity information, is an online tool for finding out about the animals, plants and habitats in your neighborhood or area of interest. The Environmental Resource Mapper is an interactive mapping application that can be used to identify some of New York State's natural resources and environmental features that are state protected, or of conservation concern. NJ-GeoWeb enables the combining of many environmental map layers into a single integrated map. Click on the arrow at the bottom of the screen to view a list of reported HABs Environmental Resource Mapper The Bureau of Geographic Information Systems (BGIS) has developed NJ-GeoWeb, a data and feature-rich GIS application for users of the Internet. Click on a dot for more information, including the date it was reported, the waterbody name, and pictures. Each yellow dot on the map represents a HAB reported in the past two weeks. This application provided very rudimentary capabilities the ability to present a map of the world, zooming at predefined scales and controlling the.
